HOW WE CAN HELP
As experts in debt and financial management we have the ability and expertise to help you in many ways. Our professional counsellors will go through a detailed financial assessment with you to identify the possible solutions to your financial concerns. During your initial free financial assessment, we will sit down together and try to create a true and accurate picture of your financial situation.
Once your financial situation has been reviewed, the counsellor will discuss the financial options available to you and the implications of each option. The next step is to choose the best solution based on your ability and your goals. These options include:
Debt Management Programs
- Negotiating with creditors on your behalf
- Disbursing payments on your behalf to creditors
- Avoidance of bankruptcy
- Reduction of stress/anxiety
- Learning to live without credit
Help Resolving Creditor Problems
- Acting as a liaison between you and your creditors on a short-term basis
Money Management Counselling
- Planning and budgeting
- Setting financial goals
- Assessments of needs and wants
- Financial education and advice
When You Realize You Don't Have The Knowledge And Skills To Avoid Getting Into Financial Trouble
Our real desire is to help people before they ever get into trouble by educating them on smart debt and financial management strategies. We like to think of ourselves as educators as opposed to rescuers and we have the ability to provide information for those that would like to learn more. Just as a lifeguard would rather teach people how to swim as opposed to rescue them from drowning, we welcome any opportunities that allow us to act as educators first and rescuers second. We will work with you on an individual basis to make you capable of dealing with your financial situation.
Speakers Available
We are more than happy to speak to groups and provide an informative presentation on How To Live With The Money You Have. Other topics are also available.
Our presentations are ideal for employers looking to offer educational benefits to their employees, unions looking to help their membership, service and community groups as well as many other audiences. Contact Sandra Sherk by phone at 905-579-1951 or by email at ccs@ccsdurhamregion.com.
