Ron is involved with CCS Durham Region on a Debt Management Program. At a recent review appointment he told us how nice it was to have cash in his pocket. He no longer has to go around borrowing money from people and then wonder how he was going to pay them back.
The first Christmas Kate and Jeff were on a Debt Management Program, they sent us a Christmas card saying they were managing and could even buy gifts for each other that year. They maintained their program and left our service debt-free.
David took almost 5 years to repay his debts in full to his creditors. Near the end of his program he won $35,000 and he told his counsellor he was happy he learned to handle his finances before winning this money. He is now debt-free with money in the bank.
Cathy works part-time and receives a disability pension. She and her counsellor worked for over a year to get her out of her overdraft and to the point where she could set up her own monthly spending plan. She now feels in control of her money and she knows what she can and cannot afford to buy. She also knows Sandra is just a phone call away if she has questions.
Nora was robbed of $30,000 of her life savings by a con artist. She came to CCS Durham Region looking for budgeting help so she could set up a plan to repay her debts. She is well on her way. Her counsellor often sees Nora at the place she works and Nora always gives Sandy a hug and a big thank-you.
